Venice Bridge-Museum

The Bridge-Museum explores the relationship between observation and experience and between urban artifact and new construction. The design preserves the wooden arch of the original Academia Bridge and anchors the ends with two multi-level concrete structures which house the museum galleries, offices, workspace and cafeteria. The buildings are connected with an accessible glass and steel bridge that elegantly contrasts with the historic arched walkway.
